The only time I will leave the house by myself is for work, school, treatment or therapy. Behavior considered to be a “Conflict of Interest” (i.e., Sponsorship, Employment, Dating, etc.) between residents​ ​is strictly prohibited. NO DATING OR VISITATION BETWEEN RESIDENTS/HOMES OF THE OPPOSITE SEX WITHOUT VERBAL PERMISSION FROM ​DB HOUSE ​MANAGEMENT. Consumption or possession of beverage alcohol in any form is strictly prohibited. There are excused absences if cleared by management prior to meeting. Daily chores for each member also individuals need to clean up after themselves.

Failure of the resident to meet any of these criteria may preclude them from residency. Meal Preparation – Residents usually rotate on meal prep responsibilities, grocery shopping, and meal planning if the house shares meals as a community.

Former residents are not permitted on the property without staff permission. This can include researching the facility of choice both online and in person, asking about their state licence and the programs that they provide. You can also call a helpline and discuss any questions or concerns you may have. Available at this type of facilities can be beneficial for individuals struggling to stay sober. Violence or the possession or use of a firearm or any other weapon is strictly prohibited and will result in immediate termination of stay.

What to Expect at a Halfway House

You are in a Recovery House which is a Sober Living Environment. Your success and continuance in this environment is dependent upon your consistent good behavior and cooperation. Disruptive and/or discourteous behavior ​will not be tolerated​. ​Any contact with illegal drugs and/or alcohol and/or sober house violation of any of the following Rules & Guidelines ​can/will​ result in eviction​. Ashtrays are provided outside and need to be cleaned daily. No littering of cigarette butts on or near property. I understand and agree to take full responsibility for following my doctor’s instructions.

Any resident that knows of a person engaging in substance abuse must inform the Staff immediately. Failure to do so will result in what could lead to termination of residency. Some halfway houses require residents to pass a drug screening and/or breathalyzer test, as they’re not equipped to deal with withdrawal symptoms ordelirium tremens. Halfway houses are ideal for people who’ve already gone through medical detox and have completed aninpatient or outpatient treatment program. Sober living, one of the best decisions that a person in early recovery, who is serious about maintaining their sobriety, can make. Sober living homes are great for individuals who don’t have a healthy living environment to return to after treatment.

Visitors are not allowed in any bedroom at any time. Smoking, candles, or incense are not allowed inside ANY BEDROOM, bathroom, house in general or entryways/patio. All residents will be fully and properly clothed between the hours of 7 a.m. No gang or drug/alcohol related, or outlandish clothing or paraphernalia. Residents will participate in ongoing mandatory house chores. Residents not employed or in school must be off the property by 9 AM daily and return after 4 PM.
