A 2023 study by the Bulgarian Institute for Market Economics highlights a significant mismatch between vocational education and the labor market in Bulgaria. Almost half of VET students may not find work in their chosen field. Despite this, VET graduates show higher employment rates and lower unemployment compared to their peers in general education. The study recommends expanding dual training and making vocational guidance mandatory to better align VET offerings with local workforce needs.
