Five researchers from the INSAIT institute at Sofia University “St. Kliment Ohridski” received recognition from the global AI elite. Nikita Tsoy, Xinlei Wang, Ivo Petrov, Asen Nachkov, and Deheng Zhang were awarded the ICML Gold Reviewer Award 2026.
The distinction is granted by the International Conference on Machine Learning (ICML) — a leading global forum for artificial intelligence and machine learning. Every year, thousands of scientists participate in the evaluation of research papers submitted to ICML, while the Gold Reviewer Award is presented only to a limited number of reviewers for their exceptional contribution to selecting the strongest research in the field.
This recognition is a sign not only of strong scientific expertise, but also of an active role in shaping global quality standards in artificial intelligence research.
