A student from Yambol, Petar Nedev from the Vocational Technical High School “Ivan Raynov,” won first place in the national competition “Best Young Car Mechanic and Driver,” held in Sofia. He will represent Bulgaria at the international Young Car Mechanic competition in Riga, Latvia, in June 2026. His classmate Denis Slav Zhelev placed second, while Kalin Ivanovski from the “Henry Ford” Vocational High School in Sofia finished third.
In the team ranking, the Yambol school also took first place, followed by the host school in Sofia and a team from Pazardzhik. The competitors completed 11 practical tasks, demonstrating strong technical knowledge and skills in vehicle maintenance and repair, evaluated by international experts.
Alongside this, a driving competition tested participants’ safe vehicle handling. Radislav Tsvetozarov from Botevgrad won individually, while his team also secured first place.
Overall, the Yambol team achieved the best combined performance, confirming the competition’s role as a key national event that showcases the top young talents in automotive professions.
