BuildSkills Academy Masterclass 2 – Participation of NAVET

A representative of the National Agency for Vocational Education and Training (NAVET) participated in the BuildSkills Academy Masterclass 2 “Building change: Transformation drivers for construction and training”, held on 17–18 September 2026 in Berlin, Germany. The event brought together representatives of European institutions, organisations from the construction sector, education and training institutions, businesses and experts from various European countries.

The main focus of the two-day forum was the impact of the green and digital transitions on the construction sector and the need to adapt vocational education and training to new requirements. Discussions addressed sustainable construction, the circular economy, the use of sustainable materials, digital tools and the need to develop new skills.

The programme presented European policies and practices related to sustainable construction, energy efficiency and the circular use of construction materials. Particular attention was paid to the link between the changing needs of the sector and the updating of curricula, qualifications and workforce skills.

The second day of the Masterclass focused on integrating sustainability into vocational education and training. Good practices from Germany and other European countries were presented, aimed at developing skills for the green transition, digitalisation and innovation in occupations. The programme also included a presentation by Cedefop on the European perspective on the development of sustainable skills in the construction sector.

Participants had the opportunity to exchange experiences in thematic working groups focusing on future skills, innovative training methods, qualification systems, digitalisation in education, micro-credentials and lifelong learning. Discussions also addressed partnerships between business and education, apprenticeships and the involvement of employers in identifying skills needs.

NAVET’s participation in this international forum contributes to the exchange of European experience and good practices in the field of vocational education and training, as well as to monitoring new trends in the development of skills, qualifications and training related to the green and digital transitions.
